The Timing belt (cambelt) is a very important rubber belt which makes the drive from the crankshaft to the camshaft which is timed so that all the internal parts of your engine go up & down in the right sequence. If this belt fails it can cause extensive and costly engine damage.

The Timing Belt (cambelt) that has been fitted to your vehicle is given a strict manufacturer’s Replacement Schedule, which is when a certain mileage or time limit is reached, which ever comes first.

As the recommend mileage of most manufactures is getting higher they recommend that the Timing belt is replaced as a KIT, which means that the tensioners are changed at the same time and also if the water pump is driven by the timing belt then it too should be replaced.
